The rescue of more than 1,500 dogs from a kennel interdicted for suspected abuse ended on Sunday afternoon (17), in Piedade (SP). The court also denies the kennel security request Céu Azul
Work began in the morning and ended around 3:30 pm. About 30 people participated in the action.
According to the Environmental Police, an anonymous complaint on Wednesday pointed out the location of the dogs. The case gained repercussion and caught the attention of NGOs.
In an attempt to prevent mobilization, the owner of Piedade kennel filed a lawsuit to try to suspend the transfer of dogs.
The request for a writ of mandamus was denied by Judge Luciana Mahuad. According to the decision, there was no illicit act of the Luisa Mell Institute, responsible for the rescue of dogs, because the action of interdiction of the place was taken by the city authorities and the Environmental Police.
According to the institute, the kennel owner signed a donation contract for the dogs so that the animals could be removed from the Piedade kennel. The judge emphasized the contract in her ruling and said that "the removal of the animals is supported by a donation contract concluded by the applicant."
The Blue Sky Kennel has sold dogs to a large chain of pet stores in the country. Petz said that after the complaint, he decided to suspend the relationship with the kennel and emphasized that partner breeders are regularly visited by company veterinarians, who follow strict procedures to ensure animal welfare.
Once upon a time ... a hare and a tortoise.
The hare kept making fun of the turtle's slowness.
Once, the turtle already tired of being mocked, challenged the hare for a race.
The self-assured hare readily accepted.
Wasting no time, the tortoise began to walk, with its slow but firm steps.
Soon the hare overtook the opponent, and seeing that it would win easy, stopped and decided to doze off.
When he woke up, he didn't see the turtle and started running.
Already on the final stretch, he finally saw his opponent crossing the finish line, all smiling.
